Overview

## What waste removal covers in Manchester

### What the service is
General waste removal is the collection, loading, transport and legal disposal of rubbish from a domestic or commercial address. We come to you, load everything by hand, sweep the area and dispose of it through a licensed commercial waste facility. You never touch the waste and you never need a permit.

### Who it's for
Householders, landlords, letting agents, builders, shop and office managers, property maintenance teams and anyone who has more rubbish than their bins will take. If it is not hazardous, chances are we can take it.

### When it's needed
When the bin collection will not cover it, when a skip is impractical or too slow, when a job has finished and the debris needs to be gone before the next one starts, or when waste has accumulated to the point that it is causing a problem on site.

### Why professional help matters
Legally, waste can only be transported by a carrier registered with the Environment Agency, and the duty of care sits with whoever produced the waste. Handing rubbish to an unregistered van is a genuine legal risk. We are registered, insured, and issue waste transfer notes on request so your side of the duty of care is documented.

Leave it and it costs more

## What happens if it’s left
Waste is the one thing on a property that gets more expensive the longer it sits there.

- Piled waste attracts more waste: one bag by a wall becomes a fly-tipping site within days.
- Rats and insects are attracted to household and food waste, and a pest problem costs far more to fix than a collection.
- Local authority enforcement can issue fixed penalties for waste accumulation and for waste traced back from an illegal tip.
- Builders and trades lose working time and storage space to debris that should have gone days ago.
- Waste stored inside a property blocks fire escape routes and creates a genuine safety risk in tenanted buildings.
### Common mistakes we see

- Giving a load to whoever answers an online ad cheapest, with no carrier licence checked and no paperwork given.
- Ordering a skip for a job that is one van load; you pay for the permit, the delivery, the hire period and the collection.
- Overfilling a domestic bin so the council refuse to empty it, which puts you a fortnight behind.
- Mixing hazardous items such as paint, chemicals and gas bottles into general waste, which can see the whole load refused.

Our process

## How the job runs, start to finish

- 1
### Call or send photos
Tell us the postcode and what needs shifting, or send a couple of photographs. We work out the volume and access from that: no waiting on a surveyor.

- 2
### Fixed price agreed
You get one clear figure before anything is booked, based on volume, weight and access. It does not change unless you add to the job.

- 3
### Time slot confirmed
We confirm a day and a time window, including evenings and weekends, and ring you before we set off so you are not waiting in.

- 4
### Cleared and swept
Our crew does all the carrying and loading, segregates timber and metal for recycling, and brushes the area through before we leave.

- 5
### Legally disposed, documented
The load goes to a licensed commercial waste facility. Pay by card, cash or transfer, and ask for a waste transfer note for your records.

What you get

## Why customers book waste removal with Fisher

### Same-day collection

We operate 7am to 10pm, seven days a week. Most Manchester waste collections happen the same day or the next, not next week when a skip slot frees up.

### You pay for space, not time

Single items start at £60 and larger loads are quoted individually. Everything in between is priced on the space it takes, agreed before we load.

### No permit, no obstruction

Because the waste goes straight into the van there is no skip on the highway, no permit application, and nothing blocking your drive or your neighbours' parking.

### All the lifting done

The crew carries it from wherever it is; upstairs, back garden, cellar, behind the shop. You do not need to drag it to the kerbside first.

### Documented, legal disposal

Registered waste carrier, licensed disposal facility, waste transfer notes on request. Your duty of care is covered on paper, not just verbally.

### Left tidy

The area gets brushed up when the load is on. A collection that leaves debris behind has not really been done.

In detail

## Waste Removal in Manchester: the detail that matters

### What we take
General and bulky non-hazardous waste from any address in Greater Manchester.

- Bagged general and household waste
- Furniture, mattresses, carpets and soft furnishings
- White goods, small appliances and general electricals
- Timber, pallets, flat-pack and general construction offcuts
- Garden waste, soil, turf and rubble in manageable loads
- Shop, office and commercial general waste

### What we cannot take
Asbestos in any form, clinical or medical waste, chemicals and solvents, gas bottles, and tyres in volume. If you are unsure about something, describe it on the phone before we come out; it is faster than us arriving and having to refuse it, and we will point you to the right route for that material.

### How pricing by volume actually works
Our van holds roughly 12–14 cubic yards, equivalent to a large builders' skip. A quarter load, half load and full load are priced accordingly, with heavy fractions such as soil, rubble and tiles assessed on weight because a van fills its weight limit long before its space limit with those materials. Combining several items into one collection is nearly always cheaper than booking two separate visits.

### Domestic versus commercial waste removal
Domestic collections are usually one-off and fitted around the household. Commercial waste removal is often about timing and evidence: collections before opening or after close, regular repeat visits for shops, sites and offices, invoices per site, and waste transfer notes for the compliance file. Both are priced the same way and both leave under the same carrier registration.

### Recycling, honestly stated
We do not claim a diversion percentage we cannot prove. What we do is straightforward: timber and clean wood are recycled, metals and white goods are separated, and mixed general waste that cannot be segregated on the load goes to a licensed commercial waste facility. We tip through Skip Co Mcr, a family-run disposal site, which keeps our turnaround fast and our pricing stable.

Common questions

## Waste Removal questions, answered straight
How much does waste removal cost in Manchester? From £60 for a single item, with a £60 minimum job, and larger loads quoted individually. Part loads are priced on the space they take and quoted before we load.

Can you collect today?Very often, yes. We work 7am to 10pm every day. Call with your postcode and what needs shifting and we will tell you what is available today.

Do I need to bring the waste outside? No. We carry it out from wherever it is (inside, upstairs, in a garden or behind a unit) and that labour is included in the price.

Is it cheaper than a skip? For most one-off loads, yes. There is no permit, no hire period, no delivery and collection charge, and no lifting for you.

Are you a licensed waste carrier?Yes. Fisher Group Services Ltd is registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier, is covered by public liability insurance, and provides waste transfer notes on request.

What can't you take?Asbestos, clinical waste, chemicals, solvents, gas bottles and bulk tyres. Tell us on the phone if you have any of these and we will point you in the right direction.

Do you work weekends and evenings?Yes, seven days a week until 10pm; useful for shops, sites and anyone who cannot be at home during the day.

How much notice do you need?Often none for a small load. For a full load on a specific time slot, a day's notice gives you the best choice of times.

Will you provide a waste transfer note?Yes, on request. Landlords, agents and businesses should always ask for one; it evidences your duty of care.

How do I pay?Card, cash or bank transfer on completion, with invoices available for business and landlord accounts.
